Send us your questions about Island drug use
How prevalent is heroin on Shelter Island? How much does it cost? How can I tell if a family member is using drugs?
These and other questions were asked during a meeting of community leaders involved in the Shelter Island Communities That Care (CTC) program last Wednesday at Town Hall. In response to these questions, the group is planning to host a community forum on Island drug use in early April with details to be announced.
To bring more information to the community ahead of that meeting, the Reporter is collecting questions about drug use on Shelter Island from our readers. We will bring those questions to law enforcement and drug rehabilitation experts for answers.
Readers may submit questions in the following ways:
• By email to news@sireporter.com
• By web message. Visitors to our website, sireporter.com, may choose “Connect,” then “Message Boards” and then hit the “Drug use on Shelter Island” message thread and post a reply.
• By mail to P.O. Box 756, Shelter Island, NY 11964.
• By calling Cara Loriz at 749-1000.
• By dropping off written questions at our office, 50 North Ferry Road. Use the mail slot after business hours.
Questions may be anonymous. Selected questions and answers will be published in an upcoming edition of the Reporter.
