Friends of Nature debuts

A new group, the Shelter Island Friends of Nature, met for the first time at the Shelter Island Library on May 18. Convened by Kenton van Boer, an architect and nature lover, the group plans to discuss environmental issues affecting Shelter Island, view films and sponsor outings and events focused on nature, wildlife and ecology.
Dates have been set for Tuesday evenings on July 20 and August 17 at the library. Everyone is welcome to join in.
