Town announces free storm-related debris recycling

PETER BOODY PHOTO | A local resident begins to clear debris on his property following Hurricane Sandy Tuesday morning.

There will be no fees at the town recycling center for storm-related debris and/or construction debris related to the storm, Highway Superintendent Jay Card said Tuesday.

Those hauling debris to the center must still have it weighed on the scales, but won’t be charged.

Plans call for fees to be suspended at least through next Tuesday, Nov. 6, Superintendent Card said.
