In ‘dire need,’ ELIH kicks off blood drive

Eastern Long Island Hospital has declared a blood shortage emergency and is in “dire need of blood donations,” according to a hospital statement. A blood drive has been slated for Thursday, February 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the hospital conference room.

For an appointment, call 477-5100, but walk-ins are also welcome.

Donors will receive a $5 gift card for use at the hospital’s Corner Gift Shop or the Green House Grill.
