Westmoreland Drive resident Joe Tuana sent us this photo of his son, Max, 14, “helping” — as Mr. Tuana wrote — Shelter Island Police Officer Tom Cronin rescue a floating SUV adrift in West Neck Bay last Friday.

By the expression on Officer Cronin’s face, it’s obvious the operation was in no way dangerous.
