We received this note from our friend Don Bindler on summer guests:

“Although summer is only half over, many of these beautiful garden jewels will be leaving us shortly. Male ruby-throated hummingbirds, like the one (above) seen in my garden last week, start their long journey to Mexico and Central America as early as mid summer. The females and young will hang around until late September.”
