Shine on strawberry moon
Something happened last night that hasn’t happened in almost 50 years and won’t again until 2062.
The rare event was the arrival of the summer solstice yesterday evening, the official start of summer, accompanied by a full moon.
It’s called a “strawberry moon,” named by the Algonquin people, according to the “The Old Farmer’s Almanac,” for the confluence of the full moon and the peak of the strawberry season.
