School opening delayed until 10 a.m. today

The Shelter Island School District delayed opening of classes today. The announcement came at 5:45 a.m.: “Due to the snow, there will be a 2 hour delayed opening today, Thursday, March 22nd. Classes will begin at 10:00 am and we will follow an abbreviated schedule.

“For those students who take the bus on a daily basis, please be ready to be picked up approximately two hours later than usual. Safe travels on your way to school this morning!”
