Weather service: Clear, mild day in store

It will be a partly sunny, mild Wednesday on Shelter Island, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The high temperature will be 74 degrees with an east wind at 5 to 9 mph. The wind will shift to the southwest this afternoon, but remain light.

For tonight, the NWS is forecasting showers and a thunderstorm after midnight, with the chance of heavy rain.
