Getting kids involved with nature
To the Editor:
There is no better way to preserve the natural world than to teach a child to love and protect it.

March 12 was the last home game of the Shelter Island School girls junior high basketball season. The team sported tie-dye socks they made in a fun team bonding activity. Parents and fans were there to cheer on the feisty home team. (more…)

All for one. The Shelter Island volleyball teams stayed strong and together over the course of his season.
Shelter Island volleyball had a new look in 2017.
We lost seven players to graduation in June, leaving only three returning varsity players. Laura Mayo took over the reins of the junior varsity team from Jim Theinert, a three-year veteran of the position. On the books it looked like a rebuilding year, but the varsity matched its record from 2016, and the JV was stronger than the previous year. (more…)
