On Monday, July 18 the Shelter Island Bucks resumed a rain-delayed Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League contest from July 7, which had been called in the fourth inning with the Bucks down 5-2 to the Montauk Mustangs at Fiske Field.
Matters did not improve for the home team as the Mustangs sent 16 men to the plate, scoring 11 times on just three hits in the inning. (more…)

The Shelter Island Bucks welcomed the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League (HCBL) leading Westhampton Aviators on Tuesday and bowed 7-3 at a sun-drenched Fiske Field.
Island pitchers recorded 13 strikeouts and allowed twelve hits as the Aviators earned their 20th win of the season against just nine defeats. The Bucks are in last place in the HCBL with an 8-17-1 record. (more…)

The Shelter Island Bucks rode power hitting and a strong start by Ian Burns (Columbia U.) to a 5-2 victory over the Riverhead Tomcats at Fiske Field on Tuesday. Burns used a good fastball and a variety of off speed pitches to allow only one run over six innings in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League contest. (more…)
