Shelter Island braced for a late winter storm Tuesday morning, with forecasts of six to 12 inches of heavy, wet snow.

Morning clouds will give way to a mostly sunny Wednesday for Shelter Island, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The NWS is calling for a high temperature of 62 degrees and a west wind at 9 to 17 mph.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 40, according to the NWS.
