FEBRUARY’S CELEBRITY CHEF

The next Celebrity Chef dinner at the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church will feature Michelle Beckwith. The dinner will be held Thursday, February 15 at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall and the menu will include antipasto, Ceasar salad, chicken saltimbocca over spinach, parmesan rice and panna cotta with berries. Sylvester Manor Educational Farm kicks off its 2018 concert series with a performance by Mile Twelve, the International Bluegrass Music Association’s 2017 Momentum Award-winning band. Happily hosting this annual post-holiday tradition will be Tom and Lisa and Friends. The concert is Saturday, January 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Shelter Island School Auditorium.  (more…)

After months of negotiations, the not-for-profit Sag Harbor Partnership has entered into a contract to purchase the Sag Harbor Cinema from its longtime owner, Gerald Mallow.

The Partnership hopes to raise funds from private donors for the continuation of the cinema’s long tradition of unique programming, preserved for the last 38 years by Mr. Mallow, and to expand the mission of the cinema to include the formation of a new not-for-profit, the Sag Harbor Cinema Arts Center (SHCAC). This entity would be committed to education, outreach, and year-round programming serving the residents of the East End. (more…)
