The Menantic Yacht Club held its second series of Sunfish races in perfect weather Sunday afternoon, July 15, in West Neck Harbor. The wind built steadily all afternoon, ranging from about 5 to 10 knots, gusting to 12, blowing from the west. The gusts were extremely squirrelly at the windward mark. (more…)

The Menantic Yacht Club (MYC) held its first Sunfish race of the 2017 season on Sunday, July 2 in West Neck Harbor.
Mother Nature was at her best with plenty of sunshine and wind that built steadily all afternoon, blowing between 4 and 10 knots from the west. It was gusty and quite squirrely, which made for fun rounding the upwind mark. There were a number of flips and some crashes; one caused extensive damage and one involved the boom of one sailor hitting the head of another sailor with a sound heard ‘round the world. (more…)

The Menantic Yacht Club hosted the largest Women’s North American Sunfish Championship (WNA) in history this past weekend in West Neck Harbor with 39 sailors participating, ranging in age from 12 to 72, and hailing from as far afield as Arizona. (more…)
