Simovich best bowler, hits 200
 Team Won Lost

Don’t you just love when someone complains about how badly they have been bowling, and then the next week they do so well they become Bowler of the Week? That is exactly what happened to Essie Simovich. With only two open frames in the first game, Essie had a fabulous 168. In her high game for the night, she had a turkey and opened in the 10th for a 200. Essie doubled up on spares for a 144 to close out the night with her third over-average game.

The Rockettes were down to two against Spare Us. Sherri Surozenski had double spares and strikes for a 167 in the first game. Sue Klenawicus and Ellie Labrozzi both went Dutch and landed in the 150s. Momma P. added 23 pins to her average to take the first game for Spare Us. Sherri injured her knee and couldn’t reach her average for the last two games. ‘Ette Captain Lynn Kay Winters decided she needed to take lessons from super bowler Marge from Nebraska. Cheryl Pensa has been absent for a while and returned with a bang. Cheryl had five spares in a row, and only opened in the 10th for a 190. Sue was right behind her with two pairs of strikes and a pair of spares for a 176. In the last game, Ellie had a high of 160, while Liz Lechmanski and Cheryl topped out with 123 and 167 respectively.

The Lucky Strikes had a 9-mark lead against the Fabulous Five but were missing three bowlers. Alison Bevilaqua and Erica Tome were hovering around their averages in the first game. Fab Norma Edwards lent Essie a hand with 7 extra pins. Alison and Erica made more pins fall in the second game, but Donna Cass and Jackie Brewer had even more pin action. Donna had a poult and a Dutch set for a 155, while Jackie had 5 spares at the end for a 160. Erica had a third over-average score as did Alison with 109 and 108 respectively. Donna matched Essie’s 144 in the last game. Jackie had two open frames for a 168. Fabulous Five won the last game by 6 pins, and took all 11 from the Lucky Strikes.

Ginny Gibbs tried to inspire her Paint by Numbers team with her 126 against the Brick Laying Babes but Babe Captain Laura Marcello got her team moving with a poult for a 163. Paint Linda Springer had two pairs of spares and a pair of strikes in the second game for a 150. PbN Donna Clark was all about strikes with three open frames for a 156. Babe Laura had another poult in the second for a 136, while Tracy Gibbs had one open frame with a turkey and the rest Dutch for a 206. Tracy led her team with two open frames and a 178 in the last game, but her team was far behind her. Donna Clark and the Paints took the last game with a pair of spares for a 116.

Mary Ellen Gran was the only Guttersnipe to bowl over average in the first game. Odd Ball Linda McCarthy pulled a poult for a 117. Stephanie Tybaert and Kelly Michalak went mark for mark with Kelly ending with 154 and Steph with 168. Steph led with a poult for a 142 with Kelly not far behind with a 133 in the second game. Snipe Cathy Driscoll had two pairs of spares for a 140. Sue Warner pulled a poult for a 157 and the second game win. Sue had three open frames in an all spare game for a 152. Bev Pelletier had a pair of spares for a 117, Steph had four spares in a row for a 131, and Linda went Dutch for a 143.

The Guttersnipes are still in the lead with Spare Us on their heels and half a point between them. The Rockettes slipped from second to third. Paint by Numbers dropped from fourth to sixth. The Brick Laying Babes jumped up a spot leaving Fabulous Five tied with PbN. The Lucky Strikes and Odd Balls are stuck at the end fighting not to be last. Good luck, ladies. Only six weeks left.
