Cold Moon for Christmas
Christmas Eve night, photographer Eleanor P. Labrozzi took this remarkable image looking toward Bridge Street of a remarkable event.
As Eleanor wrote to us: “This was the first full moon on Christmas in nearly 40 years – since 1977, to be exact. According to astronomers, it won’t happen again until 2034. Certain Native American groups call this phenomenon the ‘Cold Moon,’ because of its closeness to the winter solstice.”
