Our friend Don Bindler captured this hummingbird yesterday.

Don wrote: “This is the best time to enjoy these little garden jewels. They’re feeding actively in order to build up their body fat in preparation for their long journey south.

“The males, like this one, will leave in a few weeks and begin a trek of several thousand miles to Central and South America. This tiny bird crosses the Gulf of Mexico non-stop when it leaves landfall.”
