A perfect autumn afternoon was the special setting for the annual Shelter Island Halloween Parade in the Center Monday. Many veterans of the parade said it was the best attended in years.

Revelers of all ages strutted their stuff and then headed into the firehouse for hotdogs and other treats. Soon it was off to Smith Street and environs for trick or treating and more fun.
