Shelter Island weathers the storm
No serious damage, power outages or flooding were reported from the nor’easter that blew through overnight.
Highway Superintendent Jay Car Jr. said that crews were called out for two downed trees, one on St. Mary’s Road and one on Ram Island. Some roads were flooded at high tide last night and again this morning, but no major thoroughfares were affected, Mr. Card said.
