Patricia Anzalone not only identified the three sentinels in a field (see below), but she knew where they were. Trish wrote: “One is a vent, one is a suction, and one is a ‘fill’” for underground tanks used by the Fire Department in case of an emergency.

There are several examples of this trio around the Island, and Tom Speeches identified one next to the IGA. Lisa Richland, the director of Greenport’s FLoyd Memorial Library, with tongue firmly in cheek (we think) wrote: “That’s the St. Mary’s Road Loch Ness monster water tank.”
