Thai curry is a surprisingly easy and quick meal to make and warm up during the winter months.

For New York City it’s Chinese food and for the North Fork it’s pizza, but for the tiny hippie town I grew up in on the Big Island of Hawaii, Thai food was the go-to take out dinner.

This bread recipe is easy peasy and absolutely delish.

Breaking bread may bring people together, but baking bread seems to intimidate many home chefs. 

At least, that’s the response I get from others when I make this bread. Everyone always appears stunned that I whipped up a loaf of French bread so easily and that it’s so good. But it actually is really easy, just five ingredients and five easy steps, and voila! You’ve got a delicious loaf of bread that will impress and satisfy dinner party guests or that friend coming by for a glass of wine.

Bucatini All’Amatriciana! Where have you been all my life? I am a pasta lover who has always snubbed bucatini – the spaghetti-shaped noodle that has a hole through it – until a friend of mine insisted I reconsider.

When I was a kid, my family had a tradition of going to Benihana (yes, the Japanese steakhouse chain restaurant) right around New Year’s Eve. And I always loved the carrot-ginger dressing they put on their salads. In fact, I’d ask the waiter for an extra amount on the side, which ended up over all my food (to the delight of the knife-flipping chef). So when I became a chef, I started to wonder about making the dressing myself.  (more…)
