Questions on rentals
To the Editor:
The public hearing on January 27 is certain to result in a cacophony of opinions, all lumped under the all-purpose title, “short-term rentals.” For more productive discussion, the Town Board might separate out the concerns being raised and open them for comment in some order. (more…)

Coastal flooding and strong winds remain the biggest threat to Shelter Island as the effects of Tropical Storm Hermine are expected to be felt overnight Sunday into Monday, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a tropical storm warning for the area. (more…)
