The recent article on affordable housing (“What Shelter Island’s future can afford,” March 3) was well written and timely.
However, it was rife with speculation and opinion and did not belong on the front page. The article provided little or no data to substantiate the long list of perceived social problems facing our community. (more…)

Shelter Island Country Club certainly appreciated the time, effort and money invested by Ian, Harry and Joe to improve our clubhouse for their Vue Restaurant. We are very disappointed they have decided that they will not be able to continue operations this season. (more…)

That’s not something Shelter Island Country Club Board President Ron Lucas wanted to hear. But once again, the hunt for a new restaurateur to operate an eatery at Goat Hill is under way.
