The Shelter Island School Sailing Club crossed the channel to Stirling Harbor last Friday.

Blasting through the waves into the teeth of winds gusting to 25 mph and temperatures not far above freezing are, front to back, Jill Calabro, Drew Garrison, Alexis Gibbs and Melissa Ames. Coach Peter Needham summed it up: “Tough kids.”
