Chris Biemiller is raising his voice about a proposed PSEG cable project that could run from Shelter Island Heights to Greenport.

The proposal for a new cell tower at the Manhanset Firehouse isn’t dead, but it’s limping.

That’s because Elite Towers — the company slated to construct the tower here — has only been able to sign two carriers — Verizon and Sprint — to put antennae on the tower. Until it can secure more wireless companies to join in, the investment in creating a new tower isn’t working. (more…)

South Ferry notice
To the Editor:
As of today and through the end of April you’ll notice numerous construction vehicles blocking regular access on the eastern lane of Route 114 by our North Haven slips. These vehicles are part of Verizon’s efforts to relocate an existing communications cable in anticipation of Suffolk County’s planned dredging of the area immediately around our slips next winter.
