Lechmanski leads as week’s top bowler

Liz Lechmanski scored the high series with handicap to top the week.

Liz Lechmanski made Spare Us proud this week. Our Bowler of the Week had three stellar games. Liz started the night with two pairs of poults. That’s 3 spares in a row. Twice. Her first game resulted in a 141. In the next game, Liz went Dutch in the second game with two open frames for her highest game of the night — a 176. In the third game, this Spare toned it down for yet another over-average game with one more poult for a 129.

The Brick Laying Babes began the week with the Lucky Strikes. Lucky Captain Julie Fanelli led her team with 5 marks for an easy 123. Erica Tome and Alison Bevilacqua were right behind with a couple of higher-than-average games. Babe Captain Laura Marcello rallied her team for three over-average scores. Lisa Goody hit a high scratch game of 179 with only three open frames. Her handicap brought her up to a 239 for the high handicap game for the week. Julie bagged a turkey for a 153 while Farragh Callahan and Erica went mark for mark for another Lucky win. The Strikes lost their speed and fell to the Babes in the third game.

It was three against four when the Fabulous Five went up against the Odd Balls. Jackie Brewer bagged a turkey in the ninth frame for a 164. Audrey Marshall almost struck out in the 10th, but missed by 1 pin, while Donna Cass got 4 spares in a row for a 146. Odd Ball Captain Stephanie Tybaert had three open frames for a 157, and teammate Kelly Michalak went Dutch with a 148 and an OB win. Bev Pelletier ended her second game with 4 marks in a row. Audrey was the only Fab to bowl over average and was able to take the second game for her team. Donna got 5 spares in a row for a 136, while Audrey went over average again in the last game. With an assortment of marks and a poult from Bev, the Odd Balls took the last game by 3 pins.

The Guttersnipes lost all 11 to Spare Us. The Snipes were slightly off target in the first game, just grazing by their averages. Spare Meddi Shaw pulled a poult as did Sue Klenawicus for 107 and 156 respectively. Jan Warner was able to knock down some extra pins for a 113, but Ellie Labrozzi went Dutch and had a poult for a 153. Sue Klen got a tur-duc-hen, 5 strikes in a row, for a 190 and the highest score of the week. Cathy Driscoll led a charge in the last game with a poult for a 129, but victory was dashed from her grasp. Meddi was hitting strikes and spares for a 136 while Sue went Dutch for a 145 and the final win for Spare Us.

Paint by Numbers shared the alleys with the Rockettes. PbN Pam Jackson pulled a poult early in the first game for a 131. ‘Ette Sherri Surozenski hit the 5-10 split in the fourth frame ending an all spare streak. She was two pins shy of a turkey in the 10th, but still made a 152. Joining the ranks of the Rockettes, Kristin Steele showed off her skills with 4 strikes in a row for a 168 in the second game. Ginny Gibbs bagged a turkey in the second game for a 154. Pam matched her with an equally high score of 157 for a Paint win. Linda Springer colored in 4 spares at the end of her third game for an easy 123. Sherri kicked out a high 145 with Ashley Knight not far behind with a 130 for a final Rockette win.
