Tballs snag early lead in new tenpin season

Here we go again making the transition from golf and other summer sports to another season of bowling. Over the summer the lanes have once again been resurfaced and look sweet. With the exception of a few opening glitches, the machines have been working fine.

The men’s league is back to eight teams. There are still a few openings for anyone who might want to bowl — according to some of the scores so far, bowling skills are not a requirement. So come down and get something to eat and join a team.

The season started with a match between the Misfits and the Pharms with the Pharms taking the 8-point win. While Randy Silvani sand-bagged, Bud Morris rolled the high series of the week of 542 that included a 188 game.

The Clippers and the TBalls split their match with the TBalls getting the 1-point edge. Taking a break from computers, Kevin Lechmanski had the hot hand for the night. Kevin rolled the high game of 208 with a 512 series. No thanks to Louie as the Clips had the high team game of 1049. For the TBalls, Bob Reylek had a 188 game. Did I mention Louie’s 369 series?

In another split, the Holy Rollers took the 1-point edge over the Dory Terminators. For the Terms, Dave Clark rolled the third-high series of 440. Easy Dave, don’t give up your day job! But the Terms did roll the high team series of 2904. The week ended with the new Under Achievers taking 11 points from the Legionnaires.

The Terms took some of the air out of the Achievers’ sails this week with their 8-point win. The Terms had the high team series of 3055. Butch Labrozzi was the man this week for the Terms with his 517 series.

The Holy Rollers stuck it to the ‘Naires this week taking all 11 points. The ‘Naires seem lost without Commander Mike taking control. He needs to come back and tighten the straps for his team. Even St. Brunswick couldn’t save Fr. Peter this night.

The TBalls swept the Pharms for all 11 points in their match. Stanley Beckwith, taking time off from making babies, rolled a 214 game. Keith Clark was the sleeper of the night with his 502 series that included a 195 game. Keith really knows how to play the handicaps, both on the golf course and the lanes. What was really sad was that the TBalls only had two bowlers while the Pharms had a full team.

Ending the week, the Clippers took all 11 points from the Misfits, who are looking for a few more bowlers. Again this week, the Clips rolled the high team game of 1065 led by Kevin Lechmanski. Kevin rolled the high series of 519 that included the high game of 221. It appears that the best thing that Louie can do for his team is keep the refreshments coming.

A friendly reminder for booster members: booster dues are due by the third bowling week, $20 for one person and $30 for a family.
