The Shelter Island Bucks put the finishing touches on their 2014 regular season the past couple of days, splitting a doubleheader at the Sag Harbor Whalers before falling to the Southampton Breakers on the road in the scheduled finale.
The Bucks finished the season at 21-19, good enough for third place in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League and one of four teams to make the playoffs. (more…)

Saturday night the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League hosted its annual All-Star Game at the home of the North Fork Osprey’s in Peconic. The North team, consisting of players from the Osprey’s, Riverhead Tomcats and Shelter Island Bucks, won 7-2 over the South Team. (more…)

In their final game before the three-day All-Star Game break, the Shelter Island Bucks could not manage a win against the Sag Harbor Whalers at Fiske Field Wednesday evening.
The Whalers led 3-0 by the bottom of the second on their way to a 7-3 victory that dropped the Bucks’ record to 14-14 on the season. The Islanders are tied with the Riverhead Tomcats for the final playoff spot in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League. (more…)

On a hot and humid Monday afternoon at Fiske Field the Shelter Island Bucks split a doubleheader with the Southampton Breakers The Bucks won the first game 6-5 before getting blown out 16-8 in game two.
The split moved the Bucks’ record to 13-13, putting them in a better position in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League standings than they were Monday morning. The Island boys are now in sole position of fourth place and the last playoff spot. (more…)

The 2014 Shelter Island Bucks are establishing themselves as comeback kids.
Again, in their most recent game at Fiske Field against the Montauk Mustangs on Wednesday evening, they came back to win 8-5 after trailing by three runs. The win moved their record to 9-8 on the season. (more…)
