Shelter Island School has an outstanding record of producing students who excel both on the court and in the classroom.

This spring the New York State Public High School Athletic Association announced that Shelter Island had won its fourth consecutive School of Distinction award. (more…)

Shelter Island varsity volleyball has developed a tradition of ending the final day of the season by standing in a circle, reflecting on the highlights of the year. I always tell the team that I’m so proud to be their coach, and this season, despite our lopsided won-loss record, it was no different. (more…)

It was a red letter day for Shelter Island’s scholar-athletes as Assemblyman Fred Thiele Jr. (I-Sag Harbor) arrived December 15 with a proclamation honoring the students for maintaining high academic averages while playing varsity sports. (more…)
