Another snowy weekend on Shelter Island

CARA LORIZ PHOTO | St. Mary's Church was blanketed with snow Saturday morning. The blues skies behind it soon clouded over as another winter storm system headed our way.

Snow blanketed Shelter Island Friday afternoon and evening, making for slippery roads and cancellation of some after school activities. Unlike the nor’easter that blew in the day after Christmas, this weather event was mostly windless and left trees and bushes flocked with snow. About 3 to 4 inches fell in the Center.

Another snow storm arrived Saturday night and Islanders awoke to another 3 to 4 inches of snow on a sunny, windy Sunday morning.
