Island Arts: Island artist earns excellence award

Shelter Island sculptor Hap Bowditch received the Award of Excellence from the Art League of Long Island and the Long Island Craft Guild on Friday, May 27. Presented by Art Show Judge Cornelia Seckel, publisher of Art Times, the award singled out Mr. Bowditch’s work, “Begin,” made of mild steel and asphalt, which was entered in the joint show “Reclaiming Eden” at the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery in Dix Hills.
