Over the Hill game to benefit S.I Little League: Oldest and youngest celebrated

Dust off the glove and stretch out those hamstrings — Shelter Island’s Over the Hill Softball Game returns Saturday, October 10, with a rain date of Sunday, October 11, at the Shelter Island softball field next to the school.

Players ages 35 and over are welcome to play with a $25 donation, which includes an event T-shirt. To join the roster, email [email protected] or speak with Amanda Katta or John Brownlie.

The community is encouraged to come out and cheer on the players, take a chance in the 50/50 raffle, and join everyone for an after-party at Slice following the game.

All proceeds benefit Shelter Island Little League, helping keep registration costs affordable, fund clinics and player development, purchase equipment, and support special experiences such as the league’s annual trip to Citi Field for a Mets game, which has been made possible with additional support from the town’s recreation department.
