Through the years, Shelter Island has been proud of its golfers. The way this year is panning out, that’s not going to change. Golfers continue to show we can play darn good golf right here on this little island.
Through the years we’ve enjoyed accomplishment after accomplishment and not just on our Island, but throughout the state and country. Just last week 61 year-old Jay Sessa was playing in a national event as the oldest player in the field. The week before that and the week after, Jay “Jake” Card III finished second in two major tournaments. (more…)

HAMPTONS FILM FEST
The first hint of fall is in the air, and for film lovers that means just one thing — the Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) is gearing up for another run on the East End over Columbus Day Weekend.
The 24th edition of the HIFF runs from October 6 to 10 and includes 68 features and 58 shorts — representing the work of filmmakers from 32 countries — that will be screened at venues in East Hampton, Sag Harbor and Southampton. In addition to the movies, HIFF also hosts panel discussions and parties.
