High School Reunion of Shelter Island Class of 1986

Members of the Shelter Island High School Class of 1986 gathered at the home of Jeffrey and Sharon Gibbs on Saturday, Aug. 29 to celebrate 40 years of friendship as they marked the anniversary of their high school graduation, June 29, 1986. 

The group enjoyed a beautiful Shelter Island summer evening with Peeko oysters, a classic barbecue, celebratory beverages and a visit from Mister Softee. 

The members of the class who were not able to attend due to prior commitments and work obligations were missed. The class also said a few words of remembrance for classmates that have passed on: William (Billy) Payne — 1986; Paul John (P.J.) Rendeiro — 2012; and Robert (Bobby) King — 2026. 

Those in attendance all agreed not to wait 40 more years to get together.
