Danny Peskowitz

Danny Peskowitz died at his Penny’s Path home on May 5, 2017, surrounded by loved ones.

Danny moved to the Island in 1998, having summered here for many years. He was a Wednesday afternoon volunteer at Mashomack. Until his last years, he was a late-afternoon regular at Menhaden Lane beach and loved concerts at the Perlman Music Program, his family said. (more…)

JO ANN KIRKLAND PHOTO | The East End Hospice tree lighting at the Shelter Island Library is December 3 this year.

Each year at the start of the holiday season, East End Hospice holds its Tree of Lights celebration in communities throughout the area. These events are occasions that honor the memory of friends and family members with special tributes, spoken remembrances and music.

“This is a lovely ceremony,” said Hospice CEO Priscilla Ruffin, “one that allows us to make the memories of our loved ones part of this beautiful season.” (more…)
