Police: DWI arrest early Wednesday morning
Efren Morales Posadas, 28, of Shelter Island, was arrested at 12:10 a.m. on Sept. 16, and charged with driving while intoxicated (fist offense), having alcohol and cannabis in a motor vehicle on a highway, and failure to keep right, according to the Shelter Island Police Department.
Police said that after the traffic stop for failing to keep right and stay within the traffic lane, the defendant “was found to exhibit multiple indicators consistent with intoxication and was placed under arrest.”
Mr. Morales Posadas was held overnight at police headquarters and later released on a Dessk Appearance Ticket directing him to appear in Shelter Island Justice Court at a later date.
