It was a festive atmosphere Monday, the last day of the Shelter Island junior varsity boys baseball team’s season. There was an end-of-year barbecue and walk-up music for the players at Fiske Field. But not festive enough to seal the deal. The Indians lost to the Mattituck Tuckers 15–12.
Nevertheless, the team ended the season four games over .500 with a record of 10-6. (more…)
The junior varsity baseball team were defeated 10-5 by the Pierson Whalers at home on Monday.

The junior varsity boys baseball team returned strong on Monday after a 10-day spring break to beat Greenport at Fiske Field by a score of 18-9.
What could have started as a grudge match against the Southampton Mariners on April 11 on the Mariners home field instead began with handshakes and a conversation about sportsmanship delivered by Shelter Island Athletic Directors Todd Gulluscio and Darren Phillips. (more…)
