Angie passed away on November 14, but two sisters who accompanied her to Camp Adventure last summer will be back this month.

Angie was 9 last summer, suffering from cancer, when thanks to volunteer pilots from Patient Airlift Services, she and two sisters, Jazmin and Analia, were flown to East Hampton airport and then transported to Shelter Island.

Here they participated in “Camp Adventure” at the Camp Quinipet campus for a respite from doctors and hospitals, spending a week just being children. (more…)

A ride through Camp Adventure on August 11 found suitcases and gear strewn throughout the area as campers — pediatric cancer patients and their siblings — arrived for a week-long respite from the stressful day-to-day logistics of their conditions. (more…)

Camp Quinipet hosted the Kids Need MoRE CampsGiving crowd for a retreat during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

While the holidays can be a time for merriment and relaxation for many, some families with members who have cancer may find the fast pace anything but restorative.

That’s what brought 56 people — all involved with Kids Need MoRE — to Camp Quinipet this past weekend to participate in a their annual CampsGiving program of fun, relaxation and restoration. (more…)
