Decorating the Island Red, White and Blue: Contest winners announced

Thanks to the American Legion Auxiliary, a patriotic decorating contest has brightened the Island this summer, while raising money for the Auxiliary’s work with veterans, their families, and community outreach programs.

“We are excited to see it come to an announcement of winners this weekend with the boom of the fireworks,” said Auxiliary President Rebecca Mundy, in sharing the results of the competition on July 11. 

Gift certificate prizes have been donated by Sunset Beach, The Pridwin, Vine Street, Coecles Harbor Marina, and Stephanie Frances Studios.

Contestants have been asked to keep decorations up through July, so residents and visitors can enjoy them as they travel around the Island.
