The sign on the lawn outside Louis Cicero’s barbershop last Thursday read “Prom Haircuts” and it captured the mood (and the stray hairs) of the Island.
The students who danced at the Ram’s Head Inn last Friday night are members of the community’s most important institution, and prom is one of the ways they celebrate their passage from this beautiful and nurturing place to a wider and wilder one. (more…)
