Lone voice
To the Editor:
I am the lone voice on the Planning Board that firmly believes we do not need a Site Plan Review law.

A new law basically says if you have business property and decide on a change of use or need to get a building permit, a site plan review will be triggered. (more…)

Library tennis tournament
To the Editor:
The Shelter Island Library Tennis Tournament, originally started in the 1990s by the Jerry Berner family, returned for the second year in a row last Saturday.

RE: Water quality. Rhode Island gets referenced a lot, so I reached out to some engineering and supervisory heads there. First, Narragansett Bay was cleaned up by bringing its two main wastewater facilities up to award-winning quality, not from everyone installing IAs (Innovative Alternative septic systems). (more…)
