Nearly a year after setting out on a voyage that took his 36-foot motorboat, Teddy Bear, up the Hudson, into Canada, across the Great Lakes, then south toward Florida before traveling up the East Coast, Peter Reich anchored her beside Lady Liberty the first weekend in May.

The letters on the flag are for “America’s Great Loop Cruisers Association .”

‘Teddy Bear has crossed her wake,’ Mr. Reich told the Reporter, in anticipation of returning to the Island by Tuesday, May 4.
